This is offtopic. I will be helping a friend photograph her wedding (bridal preparation and church ceremony) next month and another friend will be shooting together with me during the church ceremony. If I have to pick just one lens to shoot, should I choose the wide angle (17-70mm) or the telephoto (70-200mm). I am more inclined to go with the wide angle. Would appreciate your advice.
I don't have the luxury of having a second camera body.
Hi Mel Teng. Personally I'd also go for the wide lens, as it offers bigger aperture setting, thus you'll get more flexibility in terms of lighting conditions. I'd assume most of the shots will also be indoors, and there'll be many group pics requests, etc, so the wide lens will definitely be used most of the time compared with the tele.
Bring along the tele too, as you may find it useful sometimes, e.g. Bokeh shots outdoor.
I won't call this 'advise', jst my thoughts to share... :). Perhaps I could join u for photo shoot one day ;)
